Pediatric Associates Family of Companies (PAFC) is pleased to welcome Charlene Wong, MD, MSHP, as Chief Clinical Officer.
A board-certified pediatrician and nationally recognized leader in pediatric value-based care, Dr. Wong will lead PAFC’s clinical strategy and support the continued evolution of care models designed to improve access and outcomes for children and families.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wong has worked to strengthen the systems that support children’s health. She previously served as Senior Advisor for Health Strategy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and as North Carolina’s inaugural Assistant Secretary for Children and Families, where she oversaw programs spanning physical and behavioral health, early childhood education and child welfare.
Dr. Wong also designed and led one of the first CMS-funded value-based care models specifically created for children, serving approximately 100,000 Medicaid-insured children and bringing together clinicians, families, payers, schools and community organizations.
Alongside her leadership experience, Dr. Wong remains a practicing pediatrician and has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications.
Her commitment to building better systems for children and families closely aligns with PAFC’s mission to expand access to high-quality care and improve the health of the communities we serve.
